The narrative is clear: liquidity is stuck across siloed L2s, and the industry needs better interoperability. But data from the same period tells a different story. TVL on Solana, Avalanche, and BNB Chain has actually increased by 8% on average, while Ethereum L1 TVL has stagnated. The fragmentation isn’t an accident of technology—it’s a deliberate design choice by protocols that profit from keeping capital moving.
