The speed is real. The settlement is real. What is not disclosed is the part that determines whether this is infrastructure or theater. No public audit report for the SoFiUSD contract. SoFiUSD is a centralized, dollar-anchored token. For every unit in circulation, the bank's treasury should hold an equivalent dollar or cash-equivalent asset. That is the core design. The token carries no governance rights, no yield, no upside of its own. It is a chain-native dollar for clients of SoFi's Big Business Banking platform.
Big Business Banking is the less glamorous half of SoFi's franchise. Its corporate clients need payroll, vendor payments, and treasury operations that clear quickly. The legacy answer is ACH, wire, and days of float. The new answer is a SoFiUSD transfer on Solana, which settles in the time it takes to click.

Tokenomics: A Liability With a Shelf Life
